I spent my 11 days off work doing absolutely NOTHING constructive. No projects, no email, no TV. I played Trouble with Josh... ... A LOT. I played Uno, watched a couple movies (30 Minutes or Less and Bridesmaids had me in stitches), read two books (Catching Fire and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), loved on my kiddos, visited with my ex-MIL who I adore, and did NOT clean, create, organize, cook regular meals, or anything else useful. I also probably gained about 20 lbs (kidding) from eating treats and take-out. My kids spent time at their dad's with their Nana, and we had an empty house for a good number of days (too many). The silence was comforting at times, bust mostly unappealing. I am so used to hustle and bustle I guess. I was kid-free for the first NYE in 16 years. Strange! Hub and I went to a get together with friends, played Taboo and had cocktails/champagne, and laughed until our faces hurt. It was great fun but I couldn't help but feel the pang of guilt that we didn't spend it drinking sparkling cider and counting down to 2012 with the kids. Cece did text me a countdown as we approached 2012, bless her heart.
I don't really do New Year's Resolutions, but I do have goals for the upcoming 12 months. Many of them are a bit too personal to list here. I can boil it down to three things,
1. Stay positive.
2. Live Simply.
3. Enjoy Now.
Wishing you all a wonderful 2012. It's going to be a good one; I can feel it.
